Why We Started Great Lakes Groeneveld

In 2004, we started Great Lakes Groeneveld with a simple mission: Help equipment owners stop wasting time, labor, and money on manual greasing and subpar lubrication systems.

We became an authorized Groeneveld-BEKA dealer because we believed in the product—and we knew there was a better way to keep equipment running. Over the years, we’ve grown through referrals, repeat customers, and one satisfied fleet manager telling another.

Along the way, we’ve learned what works in the field—and what doesn’t. We’ve seen how improper lubrication leads to frozen clevis pins, premature brake wear, accidents from dry fifth wheels, worn out components, and more. We have made it our job to prevent that from happening to our customers.

Today, we’re proud to serve fleets across trucking, construction, and industrial sectors—and we’re just getting started.

Meet Your Leadership Team

  • David Schmuck

    PRESIDENT

    Dave has been hands-on with heavy trucks and equipment since his teenage years, learning the ropes in his family business and developing a strong work ethic from his father. Trained early on by journeymen, he became a master mechanic with deep expertise in welding, fabrication, hydraulics, and full equipment refurbishment—including complex projects like rebuilding fire trucks from the ground up.

    After taking over the family business, Dave expanded into truck equipment sales. Through decades of repairs, he repeatedly saw the same issue—equipment failure caused by poor or inconsistent greasing. In 2004, driven by a passion to solve this problem for his customers, Dave founded Great Lakes Groeneveld to provide automated greasing systems that extend equipment life and reduce downtime.

    Today, Dave remains active in every part of the business—from leadership and sales to site visits and the occasional hands-on install. Outside of work, he enjoys boating, traveling, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

  • Cindy Schmuck

    OFFICE MANAGER

    Cindy is the heartbeat of Great Lakes Groeneveld, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. As Office Manager, she brings a blend of business savvy, steady organization, and genuine care to everything she does—from managing schedules to supporting customers and keeping the team on track.

    A full-time mom of three who re-entered the workforce during the recession as a mortgage broker, Cindy later joined Great Lakes Groeneveld and quickly became an indispensable part of the company. Clients appreciate her warmth and honesty, and the team relies on her no-nonsense reliability.

    Outside the office, you’ll often find Cindy in her garden or enjoying time with her grandkids.

  • Ashley Schmuck

    OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

    Ashley is a results-driven sales professional with over a decade of experience in the municipal and construction equipment industry. At Great Lakes Groeneveld, she partners with contractors, fleet managers, and municipalities to provide automated greasing solutions that minimize downtime and protect valuable equipment.

    With a background in vacuum trucks and sewer inspection systems—and years of involvement with the APWA–MI Downriver Branch—Ashley brings deep insight into the needs of public works and field operations across multiple sectors.

    Her career began in cosmetology, but after two major shoulder surgeries, Ashley transitioned into industrial sales—combining her strong people skills with a practical, problem-solving mindset.

    When she's not working, you'll find her boating, supporting local events, or spending time with her family.

  • Nathin Pearce

    LEAD TECHNICIAN I INSTALLATION SUPERVISIOR

    Nathin is a skilled technician with a hands-on, problem-solving approach and a diverse background in construction, home systems, and mechanical work. At Great Lakes Groeneveld, he brings a “jack of all trades” mindset to every install—whether he's leading on-site crews or troubleshooting equipment in the field.

    Born in Germany and raised in Michigan, Nathin spent several years in Fort Myers, FL, working in pool construction, new home builds, and house flipping. This wide-ranging experience sharpened both his technical skills and customer communication.

    Now back in Michigan, Nathin enjoys rediscovering the state with his family. Outside of work, you’ll find him fishing, hunting, or exploring the outdoors.

    MARKETING COORDINATOR

    Samantha brings energy, strategy, and a coach’s mindset to the GLG brand. As Marketing Coordinator, she helps share our story, connect with customers, and keep our messaging sharp across every platform. Whether she’s working on content, coordinating campaigns, or refining brand visuals, Samantha ensures that Great Lakes Groeneveld stays top of mind — and top of industry.

    With a background in coaching, she understands the power of clear communication and consistent follow-through. Her approach to marketing is part motivation, part strategy — always rooted in helping people make confident decisions.

    Outside of work, Samantha is a health and wellness enthusiast who enjoys staying active, eating clean, and encouraging others to live well. Her balance of creativity and discipline makes her a natural fit for our fast-moving, solutions-driven team.
